Te Awamutu Speech and Language Therapy

About Me

I am Amanda Yeates-McGrail, a NZ trained Speech Language Therapist with over 25 years of experience. I offer comprehensive speech and language therapy in Te Awamutu. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of speech, language, swallowing, and communication difficulties.

I have worked in a variety of settings including the education sector, hospital, for ACC providers, as well as in private practise. I am a registered member of NZ Speech Therapy Association.

I love seeing children and adults develop their confidence and skills so that they become effective communicators in the everyday world.

My father was totally deafened as a result of an accident when I was seven years of age. To communicate with him, I learned sign language. In my later teenage years, my father was the first male in NZ to have a cochlear implant and as a result of this, communication for my father and my family became a lot quicker and more effective. I wanted to help other families with difficulties, experience better communication.

Because of these experiences, my work with you or your child carries a unique degree of care. I understand the struggles of trying to communicate well.

Don't hesitate to get in touch if you're in Te Awamutu and would like speech and language therapy for yourself or your child.
